We were honored that D. Thomas Fine Miniatures was invited to decorate the extraordinary #Nybelwyck Hall dollhouse on permanent exhibition at The Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, NY.
We flanked the front entrance area of this massive 24-room dollhouse with tall potted corn husks and embellished them with tiny pine cones. We also placed a natural twig wreath and garland with multi-colored fall leaves around and above the door.
Bags filled with candies by Carol Ellingson from My Tiny Nest Miniatures await visitors and (tiny) trick or treaters. The "Gather and be Grateful" sign was made by Petite Provision Company. The pumpkin assortment was crafted by Donald Morcone.
Hand-stitched (and lined!) witch, prisoner, clown and ghost/ghoul costumes fill a victorian period trunk made by Cassie Leigh of Cassie Leigh Art.
Detailed masks coordinate with the clown and ghost costumes which were placed inside the "Blue and Grey Room" on the second floor of the structure.
An oversized book of anatomy lies open on the desk in the butler's bedroom on the third floor. This, in addition to potions, a pickled skull (inside a glass jar!), a witches spell book and classic spooky novels were made by L. Delaney and are placed throughout the house as well.
A delightful assortment of miniatures by Amanda Kelly of Panda Miniatures include a magic wand, spell book, candle and maps and were placed in a second floor bedroom. The tiny mouse was made by Wendy Smale.
A Quija Board (with planchette!) made by Deb Mackie from White Horse Studios was placed on the floor of the attic (which is haunted!). Nybelwyck Hall creator Mark O'Banks consulted a Ouija Board to help with the naming of the structure.
We had a BLAST decorating this extraordinary structure and grateful to the Hudson River Museum for the opportunity. A BIG thanks to the participating miniaturists for their creativity and contributions to this year's Halloween decorating event!
Do see Nybelwyck Hall if you can - - it's located in The Glenview, which is awesome Golden Age home and part of the Hudson River Museum. Tours happen Wed-Sun at 1pm and 3pm.
