A History of Miniatures: A Talk with D. Thomas
Join us for an afternoon at the Hudson River Museum on Saturday, December 9th from 3:00-4:30pm - - we'll be giving a talk on the History of Miniatures and the fixation some of us (who me???) have with these tiny treasures. We'll then move on to a private tour of Nybelwyck Hall, the extraordinary dollhouse on permanent view at the museum. Free with general admission. Plan your visit and purchase tickets online here. Miniaturist Spotlight: James Opher
Miniaturist James Opher "breathes new life" into heirloom dollhouses using reclaimed materials and a little DIY magic. See his work on display at Historic Kenmore in Fredericksburg, Virginia as part of its annual “A Wee Christmas at Kenmore,” dollhouse and miniatures show. This hand-painted supercool (signed and numbered!) graffiti art wall hanging by Devin Smith from Awesome, Thanks surprised SquintBox subscribers when the latest assortment arrived in the mail.
